About the position

The Multi-Craft Mechanic at Syensqo is responsible for operating and maintaining various equipment safely and effectively. This role requires a blend of technical skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The position emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and environmental management systems while promoting a culture of safety and customer service within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Operate basic equipment such as sweepers and forklifts while practicing safe work habits.
• Install, repair, and maintain lighting, A/C D/C motors, and drives.
• Select, cut, thread, and install conduit and wire, ensuring familiarity with class 1 div. 1 & 2 codes.
• Work from schematics, sketches, and manuals to perform tasks accurately.
• Utilize measuring devices such as megger and DVOM for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Perform basic carpentry, patching, and painting as needed.
• Troubleshoot using blueprints and sketches, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Participate in the development and implementation of HSE&S and Responsible Care programs.
• Lead or participate in safety meetings and incident investigations as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical trade school certificates preferred.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read and interpret MSDS.
• Strong communication skills to follow verbal directions and understand written procedures.
• Familiarity with solid state devices and measuring devices.
• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic machining, A/C repair, or forklift repair at level 2.
• Additional certifications in safety or environmental management systems.
