About the position
The Multi-Family Assistant Superintendent at Samuelson Development LLC is a full-time role focused on overseeing construction activities for Class A multi-family projects. This position is designed for individuals eager to grow in their construction careers, requiring a blend of technical skills, flexibility, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. The Assistant Superintendent will collaborate with a team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while also maintaining effective communication with subcontractors and the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Accurately track material usage and report discrepancies.
- Conduct pre-construction planning meetings with contractors to discuss scope of work and safety measures.
- Facilitate scheduling discussions and coordinate subcontractor activities on-site.
- Participate in weekly site meetings and submit weekly reports to the Project Manager.
- Field calls and emails from subcontractors regarding projects.
- Self-manage responsibilities and follow the company's safety program.
- Travel periodically within a 400-mile radius as needed.
- Maintain professionalism under tight deadlines.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of construction experience.
- Preferred: Degree in Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent math skills and strong attention to detail.
- Positive, professional attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Superior communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload and self-direct tasks.
- Strong understanding of construction operations.
- Capability to manage heavy workloads effectively.
- Strong team player who takes responsibility for their work.
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours when necessary.
