About the position

The position is primarily responsible for delivering energy efficiency services directly to homeowners, landlords, building owners, and utility customers. The role involves providing expert advice, coordinating programs, and recommending modifications to electric and gas systems to enhance efficiency. It combines fieldwork with office responsibilities, focusing on promoting energy efficiency and achieving energy-saving targets.

Responsibilities

  • Direct installation of energy-saving products as directed by program management
  • Adhere to safety requirements of the organization and utility client
  • Promote the energy efficiency program to customers, trade allies, and program stakeholders within the assigned territory
  • Understand and implement the company's Sales Process, including making outbound calls to existing customers to meet assigned energy-saving targets
  • Initiate new business with new customers through business-to-business efforts
  • Manage field time effectively with customer, Trade Ally, and program stakeholder visits
  • Develop and deliver presentations to create awareness about the program
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person to move projects towards completion
  • Work with utility customers to provide energy efficiency and support their business activities
  • Identify and document on-site opportunities and provide written summary reports for energy efficiency to customers and Program Manager
  • Discuss technical elements of energy-consuming equipment such as lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, building and pipe insulation, and air sealing
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and manage current projects, collaborating with Energy Engineers as required
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior appropriate for a representative of the organization and the utility
  • Build quick rapport with customers and initiate conversations regarding energy usage at the facility
  • Work in a team atmosphere and collaborate on continuous improvement of operations
  • Assist Program Manager in training new team members
  • Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs for targeted groups

Requirements

  • Experience in energy efficiency programs or related fields
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Technical knowledge of energy-consuming equipment and systems
  • Proficiency in data entry and management using spreadsheets and databases

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales or customer service
  • Familiarity with utility programs and energy efficiency standards
  • Presentation skills and experience in public speaking
