About the position

The Multi-Family Energy Advisor I position at Franklin Energy is focused on providing energy efficiency services directly to homeowners, landlords, building owners, and utility customers. The role involves a combination of fieldwork and office tasks, where the advisor will offer expert advice, coordinate energy efficiency programs, and promote the benefits of energy-saving modifications to electric and gas systems. The position aims to drive the transition to net-zero carbon economies while ensuring inclusivity for all communities.

Responsibilities

  • Direct installation of energy saving products as directed by program management
  • Adhere to safety requirements of the organization and utility client
  • Promote the energy efficiency program to customers, trade allies, and program stakeholders within the assigned territory
  • Make outbound calls to existing customers to meet assigned energy saving targets
  • Initiate new business with new customers through business-to-business efforts
  • Manage field time effectively with customer, Trade Ally, and program stakeholder visits
  • Develop and deliver presentations to create awareness about the program
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person to move projects towards completion
  • Work with utility customers to provide energy efficiency and business activities of its customers
  • Identify and document on-site opportunities and provide written summary reports for energy efficiency to customers and Program Manager
  • Discuss technical elements of energy consuming equipment such as lighting, HVAC, hot water systems, building and pipe insulation, and air sealing
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and manage current projects
  • Maintain professional appearance and behavior appropriate for a representative of the organization and the utility
  • Build quick rapport with customers and initiate conversations regarding energy usage at the facility
  • Collaborate in a team atmosphere for continuous improvement of operations
  • Assist Program Manager in training new team members
  • Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs for targeted groups

Requirements

  • Experience in energy efficiency or related field
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets and databases for data entry and analysis
  • Knowledge of energy consuming equipment and systems

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with utility programs and energy efficiency measures
  • Sales experience or background in customer service
  • Presentation skills and experience in public speaking
