About the position

The Property Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a multifamily apartment complex in Norfolk, ensuring high levels of customer service and effective management of the property. This role involves supervising a small team, managing tenant relations, and handling various administrative tasks related to property management.

Responsibilities

• Market apartments, take applications, do credit checks, approve tenants and sign leases.
• Collect rents and log on computer.
• Deposit rents in the bank.
• Go to court and/or work in conjunction with an attorney to collect rents and evict tenants.
• Handle evictions.
• Inspect apartments prior to move in and after move out.
• Inspect grounds and apartments on a weekly and/or daily basis.
• Handle maintenance calls during business hours and assist after hours if needed.
• Ensure all work orders are entered in the Yardi Work Order system and turned over to maintenance for follow up.
• Run Yardi WO report each morning to review outstanding work orders with Maintenance Supervisor.
• Keep time for all on-site staff and turn in for weekly payroll payment.
• Approve all invoices for payment.
• Handle all tenant relations.
• Assist with advertising and marketing of apartment units.
• Maintain 'Make Ready Log' for vacant apartments being turned.
• Carry out all other aspects of operating the on-site management office including supervising all on-site employees.
• Process all Yardi, AUM, and VHDA functions for tenants.

Requirements

• 3 years of property management experience required.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Computer literate and capable of managing a 2 person staff.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Yardi software is preferred.
