Multi-Machine Operator - Production

About the position

The Multi-Machine Operator at Omni Specialty Packaging is responsible for maintaining and operating multiple pieces of machinery to ensure efficient production processes. This role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety regulations, with a focus on optimizing productivity and quality in a family-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate multiple pieces of similar machinery.
• Ensure continuous and effective operation of production equipment.
• Utilize component run data and adjust for run-out and changeovers.
• Tune and diagnose machine issues effectively.
• Changeover and troubleshoot any issues seamlessly.
• Utilize ERP systems (e.g., IFS, SAP).
• Train and mentor other Operators and Technicians.
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency and ownership in tasks.
• Backfill Pod Lead role and responsibilities as needed.
• Cross-train and work across each Pod as required.
• Communicate centerline requests and changes effectively.
• Run machines ensuring no quality issues occur.
• Manage and maintain required tools for operation.
• Inform Maintenance of required PMs or reactive maintenance.
• Escalate issues to Pod Lead or proper channels as necessary.
• Report and update accurate data on DMS Board.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven Machine Operator experience (5 years preferred).
• Knowledge of computer-based systems.
• Working knowledge of production procedures.
• Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Problem-solving skills and effective communication skills.
