About the position

The Multi-Media Journalist position at the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority involves producing news content for the Oklahoma News Report. The role requires a blend of reporting, video shooting, and editing skills to create impactful news packages that inform the public about relevant issues.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a 5 - 6 minute news package weekly
  • Identify and research issues-oriented story ideas that impact citizens
  • Schedule and conduct on-camera interviews
  • Shoot interviews and B-Roll using Sony XD Cam 4K
  • Write scripts and input scripts in the AP ENPS System
  • Edit stories for broadcast on AVID editing system

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
  • Experience in reporting, writing, shooting video, and editing
  • Strong reporting, critical thinking, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of State Governmental and Tribal affairs
  • Personal initiative to develop stories consistent with the mission of the OETA News and Public Affairs Department

Benefits

  • Compensation of $35,000 to $40,000 per year
