About the position

The Multi-Media Journalist position at the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) involves general assignment television news reporting for the Oklahoma News Report. The role requires producing weekly news packages, conducting interviews, and editing stories for broadcast, all while adhering to the agency's mission and strategic plan.

Responsibilities

  • Produce a 5 - 6 minute news package weekly
  • Identify and research issues-oriented story ideas that impact citizens
  • Schedule and conduct on-camera interviews
  • Shoot interviews and B-Roll using Sony XD Cam 4K
  • Write scripts and input scripts in the AP ENPS System
  • Edit stories for broadcast on AVID editing system
  • Develop stories consistent with the mission of the OETA News and Public Affairs Department

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
  • Experience in reporting, writing, shooting video, and editing
  • Strong reporting, critical thinking, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of state governmental and tribal affairs
  • Personal initiative to develop stories
