The Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) for Sanford Health News plays a crucial role in storytelling for an 8-time Emmy nominated team of brand journalists. This position is responsible for researching, developing, editing, writing, and shooting daily video stories that highlight the work and events of Sanford Health. The MMJ will also host Sanford Health News programs, including podcasts, and produce television-quality programming that is disseminated via the website and internal channels. This role involves conducting interviews, developing and writing news stories, and taking photos/videos to create compelling narratives about Sanford Health's initiatives and events. As a key member of the Sanford Health News team within the marketing department, the MMJ reports directly to the News Director. The journalist will present stories in various formats, including written articles, video segments, and podcasts, while participating in live news conferences and announcements as a representative of Sanford Health. The MMJ is expected to ensure that all content is cohesive and strategically aligned with the organization's mission. Additionally, maintaining a strong presence across multiple social media platforms is essential for promoting the Sanford Health brand and advancing its mission. The MMJ will collaborate with the News Manager or Director, writers, reporters, photographers, videographers, and other stakeholders to identify and develop story ideas. This includes creating original news stories, gathering information from subject matter experts, and building contacts within the assigned areas of responsibility. The journalist will actively participate in daily news huddles, develop, write, and produce stories within assigned deadlines, and deliver news reports with energy and professionalism. The role also involves managing the upkeep of company equipment and promoting stories through social media channels.
