About the position
The position involves providing comprehensive support in the production and dissemination of finished products, particularly for analytic customers. The role includes conducting final reviews of text, graphics, and other formats for intelligence products, as well as formulating queries for relevant databases and producing publications according to established standards. The candidate is expected to have professional-level expertise with various electronic publishing applications and structured authoring software.
Responsibilities
- Provide support in the production and dissemination of finished products.
- Conduct final reviews of text, graphics, and other formats for intelligence products.
- Formulate simple queries for relevant databases.
- Produce publications in accordance with established standards.
- Utilize electronic publishing applications such as Microsoft Office Suite, QuarkXpress, Adobe InDesign, FrameMaker, and Acrobat.
- Employ structured authoring software including SGML, XML, and HTML.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of editing experience with an undergraduate or graduate degree in Journalism or English, or at least 5 years of editing experience without the specified degree.
- Working knowledge of electronic publishing software such as Adobe InDesign and FrameMaker.
- Expert ability to format documents using structured authoring software (SGML, XML, HTML).
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Worldwide Web and multimedia technologies.
