About the position

The Multimedia Specialist at Arizona State University (ASU) will play a crucial role in the Marketing and Communications department, focusing on creating multimedia assets for various business units within the Knowledge Enterprise. This position involves collaborating with the communications team and clients to produce engaging video content for web, social media, and other platforms, while ensuring alignment with ASU's digital brand guidelines. The specialist will manage the entire video and audio production process, from concept to delivery, and will also handle equipment procurement and financial record-keeping to support strategic marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Design, create, deliver, and modify multimedia and web-based graphics, video, and sound elements.
  • Develop layout design and concept, selecting appropriate illustrative and sound materials.
  • Test new multimedia technologies and evaluate educational applications.
  • Coordinate and perform technical duties in the production of video broadcasts, podcasts, and streaming.
  • Operate video editing equipment and determine special effects and overall design of video productions.
  • Serve as producer and/or director of video and photographic events, including scheduling and storyboarding.
  • Mentor and cross-train other team members in multimedia production.
  • Maintain archives of digital photographs and video content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Media Communications, Film or Video Production, Design, or Graphic Design, or a closely related field.
  • Two years of progressive experience in graphics or video production.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for graphics, or video/audio production for video.
  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Premiere) and audio software (e.g., Audition).
  • Operational knowledge of production gear including Blackmagic and Canon cameras.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demo reel or portfolio showcasing editing/video production skills.
  • Experience with Adobe After Effects and DaVinci Resolve.
  • Knowledge of current digital formats and codecs.
  • Experience with Google Workspace and project management software like Wrike.
