About the position

The Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist specializes in performing routine and complex imaging exams across various modalities, including Mammography, X-ray, and DEXA. This role involves the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic exams, utilizing radiofrequencies, and multi-frequency sound waves for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. The technologist is responsible for acquiring and analyzing data for diagnosis, preparing and administering medications, and ensuring patient safety while maintaining annual competencies in all assigned modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct order is obtained and patient is properly identified and prepared for exam.
  • Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
  • Prepare and/or administer medications through vascular access as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  • Evaluate images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality.
  • Educate and monitor students and other healthcare providers.
  • Apply principles of radiation safety and minimize risk to patient and self.
  • Assist licensed practitioners in interventional procedures.
  • Perform imaging procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.

Requirements

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologist (ARRT) or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program-Radiologic Technology (Required).
  • Basic Life Support Certification.
