About the position
The NBCU Local Chicago internship offers students the opportunity to learn about broadcasting and digital media from experienced professionals. Interns will work closely with producers to gather and edit content for NBCU Local Chicago, including NBC Chicago's FAST channel. This role emphasizes storytelling with a focus on local Chicago content, requiring candidates to be self-starters who can contribute original ideas to the production team.
Responsibilities
- Gather and edit content for NBCU Local Chicago and NBC Chicago's FAST channel.
- Collaborate with producers to develop engaging stories.
- Utilize DSLR cameras and non-linear editing software to produce high-quality content.
- Bring original and local ideas to the production team.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (June 2025 through August 2025).
- Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to edit in Adobe Premiere.
- Knowledge of DSLR cameras and non-linear editing.
Nice-to-haves
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred.
- Emphasis on media management.
- Familiarity with prosumer audio equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
