About the position

The Multi-Skilled Radiology Technologist / CT Technologist at MedStar Health is responsible for conducting a variety of radiographic examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patient conditions. This role requires independent judgment and technical skills to operate radiological equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging while maintaining patient comfort and safety. The technologist will also provide leadership within the Radiology department and support the hospital's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of radiographic examinations for diagnostic purposes.
• Operate radiological equipment to produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as directed by physicians.
• Prepare and administer contrast agents to patients as authorized by Radiologists.
• Ensure high-quality imaging of selected anatomic areas, including proper labeling and patient communication.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and properly identify patients before procedures.
• Perform examination completion in RIS and PACS, ensuring images are processed and archived correctly.
• Maintain departmental facilities in compliance with infection control policies and perform routine duties independently.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Formal training in an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.
• 3-4 years' experience in the registry post-primary pathway certification preferred.
• ARRT Registry, NMTCB or ARDMS status in one or more modalities.
• Active Maryland state licensure.
• CPR certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in multiple modalities such as MRI, CT, Mammography, or Nuclear Medicine.
• Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.
