Responsibilities

  • Report on news and issues related to race, culture, and religion in Atlanta.
  • Generate both daily and enterprise stories for newscasts and digital platforms.
  • Pitch story ideas tied to the content strategy of 11Alive.
  • Seek out opportunities for big interviews and ask tough questions of decision makers.
  • Create informative graphics to enhance storytelling.
  • Respond to story ideas and feedback from viewers.
  • Thrive in a live breaking news environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in journalism, particularly in reporting on race, culture, and religion.
  • Strong ability to generate story ideas and conduct impactful interviews.
  • Experience in creating graphics for news stories.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, live news environment.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of issues related to income inequality, health disparities, and faith-based activism.
