About the position

The Multi-Skilled Journalist at WCBS-TV is responsible for producing in-depth and visually compelling news stories. This role requires a strong ethical foundation in journalism, with a focus on providing context and insight into important issues. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, organized, and capable of developing and pitching enterprise story ideas that can be executed within a single day.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write, and edit visually compelling stories
• Develop and pitch enterprise story ideas
• Write crisp, conversational copy that engages viewers
• Seek diverse perspectives for all stories
• Write a digital version of every story

Requirements

• 5+ years of reporting experience
• Knowledge of the tri-state area is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Willingness to work nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays
• Open to occasional travel for special assignments
