About the position

The Multi-Skilled Journalist at CBS Television Stations is responsible for producing high-quality news content that goes beyond mere headlines, providing context and insight on significant issues. This role requires a combination of shooting, writing, and editing skills to create visually compelling stories while engaging diverse perspectives. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient, organized, and an excellent communicator, capable of developing and pitching enterprise story ideas that can be executed within a single day.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write, and edit visually compelling stories.
• Develop and pitch enterprise story ideas that can be turned in a single day.
• Write crisp, conversational copy that engages viewers.
• Seek diverse perspectives for all stories.
• Write a digital version of every story.

Requirements

• 5+ years of reporting experience, preferably with knowledge of the tri-state area.
• Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to work nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays.
• Open to occasional travel for special assignments.
