About the position

The Multicultural Case Manager at the New Jersey Association on Correction provides comprehensive case management, advocacy, and support services to Elders, LGBTQ+, and allied individuals experiencing domestic violence. This role focuses on delivering client-centered services, crisis intervention, and education regarding interpersonal violence, while ensuring compliance with organizational policies and maintaining cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a range of client-centered services to support Elders, LGBTQ+, and allied persons experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking violence.
  • Deliver individual case management, crisis intervention, and group counseling services.
  • Assess service needs and develop comprehensive individualized service plans.
  • Educate clients on the dynamics of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
  • Provide information on legal options including reporting options and attaining protective orders.
  • Maintain client records including social histories and case summaries.
  • Advocate for clients and provide resources and referrals.
  • Conduct effective crisis intervention and conflict resolution while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ensure project contract objectives and work plans are completed.
  • Input client data into the APRICOT database system accurately and timely.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly statistical data reports.
  • Participate in daily, monthly, and weekly meetings as well as semiannual training sessions.
  • Organize program activities in compliance with organizational policies and funder requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals impacted by trauma, interpersonal violence, and chronic homelessness.
  • Knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault.
  • Experience facilitating support groups and workshops.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care models.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Domestic Violence 40-hour state training certificate preferred.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence, sexual trauma, and child abuse.
