About the position
The Multimedia Communications Specialist II plays a crucial role in promoting benefits and wellness programs for the Norfolk Healthcare Consortium, which serves approximately 9,500 members and their dependents. This position involves creating educational materials, managing communication strategies, and collaborating with various teams to enhance employee engagement and understanding of available benefits.
Responsibilities
- Develops and designs educational materials for the Norfolk Healthcare Consortium.
- Creates original content including videos and communication pieces to promote benefits and wellness options.
- Ensures adherence to NHC branding standards and coordinates creative support for projects.
- Updates and maintains the NHC website in collaboration with the IT department.
- Acts as a liaison to communications teams at the City of Norfolk and other organizations.
- Supports the creation and dissemination of educational materials using multimedia tools.
- Develops and implements communication strategies for webinars and podcasts.
- Performs administrative duties including research and preparing statistical information for presentations.
- Provides graphics and visuals for meetings and events.
- Oversees project-specific functions or initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Four years of experience in marketing and communications.
- Strong writing skills and experience in creative design.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher).
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Articulate Storyline is preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Civic Plus for web content management.
- Creative design experience including layout, composition, and typography.
