About the position

The Multimedia Communications Specialist at the Southern New Jersey Perinatal Cooperative is responsible for supporting the organization's diverse communication needs. This role involves providing visual and editorial concepts and solutions for various print, digital, social media, video, and publication projects. The specialist plays a key role in designing and implementing communication strategies to achieve the organization's mission and program-specific goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualizes, designs, and coordinates the production of marketing/communication materials including graphic designs, brochures, newsletters, advertisements, and videos.
  • Works with staff to identify project goals and target audience needs, reflecting these in finished products.
  • Photographs and records subjects/events using digital and video cameras, maintaining an internal library of media.
  • Creates, produces, and edits high-quality photo and video content for the organization's websites and social media platforms.
  • Collaboratively produces custom photos, videos, graphics, and social media posts that align with brand consistency.
  • Assists in developing content and designing campaigns for various programs and initiatives.
  • Helps with social media messaging and measures success of campaigns using analytics software.
  • Cross-promotes activities and programs in various marketing/communication initiatives.
  • Assists the Director of Communications & Membership Development and senior staff in supporting organizational objectives.
  • Oversees translation of materials and coordinates in-house review processes.
  • Maintains and revises visual elements of the organization's websites and social media outlets.
  • Composes copy/text and collaborates with staff writers on publications.
  • Maintains vendor lists and subscriptions.
  • Participates in production meetings to discuss project objectives and timelines.
  • Assists with video production for special events and may require occasional travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in graphic design, advertising, public relations, journalism, or related field.
  • High level of competency in Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PremierePro), Canva, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Prezi).
  • Demonstrated expertise in web architecture and design.
  • Strong photography and photo editing skills.
  • Videography skills preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of social media tools and their application in communication campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of development.
  • Valid driver's license, car, and current insurance policy.
