About the position

The Hartford is seeking a Multimedia Content Designer to create impactful digital experiences across various channels. This role involves the design and execution of SEO-informed digital assets that enhance user engagement and acquisition on The Hartford's website and blog. The ideal candidate will collaborate with various teams to produce high-quality multimedia content, including videos, animations, and photography, while adhering to brand identity and business strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Design captivating rich media assets (infographics, microcontent, iconography, etc.) for The Hartford's website and blog properties.
  • Produce and edit video footage and photography for various web and social media placements.
  • Recommend and execute multimedia content that improves relevancy and overall experience based on customer interests and journey.
  • Collaborate with content writers to develop SEO-informed rich media assets for blogs and articles.
  • Work with line of business stakeholders to understand and execute specific graphic design and multimedia support needs.
  • Translate complex insurance topics into simplified, branded multimedia content for various channels.
  • Work with web analysts to refine and optimize multimedia assets based on performance.
  • Provide cross-functional design support for Multimedia Strategy team members as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years professional experience in digital or multimedia design at an agency, marketing department, or comparable organization.
  • Strong portfolio of digital design and video production work.
  • Deep understanding of user-centric design principles and digital best practices including file types, web functionality, responsive design, and accessibility standards.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative programs, including After Effects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
  • Proficiency in Figma or other UX design tools.
  • Knowledge of web design creative best practices for both static and video.
  • Front-end web development experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or other creative field is preferred, but not required.
