About the position

The Multimedia Content Designer at Western Governors University (WGU) is responsible for creating engaging, user-facing, mobile-first, media-rich content for non-degree, online, professional skill-building Certificate programs. This role is integral to the Product Design and Development Team, utilizing a scrum-based, design thinking framework to enhance college and workforce readiness for diverse learners, particularly those from underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging illustrations, interactives, animations, videos, and audio files for online learning programs.
• Collaborate with a Content Design Writer and an Instructional Technologist to develop best-in-class educational content.
• Utilize innovative thinking and creativity to design transformative learning experiences on tight timelines.
• Participate in an agile development team to ensure high-quality content delivery.
• Focus on enhancing cognitive, psychological, and emotional resilience through learning experiences.

Requirements

• Proven experience in multimedia design, including proficiency in creating animations, videos, and interactive content.
• Strong understanding of design thinking and user-centered design principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Nice-to-haves
