The Multimedia Journalist at The University of Alabama is responsible for producing, reporting, shooting, writing, voicing, editing, and feeding news production content across various platforms. This role requires a commitment to delivering news that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to the audience, all while working under moderate supervision. The journalist will be expected to adhere to the traditional tenets of journalism, effectively combining text, images, sound, video, and graphics to create compelling news stories. In addition to content creation, the Multimedia Journalist will provide guidance and training to entry-level Multimedia Journalists and other staff members, fostering a collaborative and educational environment. The position may also involve anchoring a news cast, which requires strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively on air. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, but flexibility is necessary as some evenings, weekends, and holidays will be required to cover news events as they arise.
