About the position

KXII-TV News 12 is seeking a multimedia journalist to deliver impactful stories to the Texoma community through various platforms. This full-time position involves on-air reporting, working closely with the news director and anchors, and contributing to both television broadcasts and digital content. The role emphasizes storytelling, community engagement, and collaboration within a dedicated news team.

Responsibilities

• Write, shoot, and edit stories for daily newscasts, website, and social platforms.
• Post and regularly update stories on digital properties.
• Utilize social media to report stories and interact with viewers.
• Research and gather information accurately and creatively.
• Develop and maintain sources of information related to assignments.
• Participate in story selection meetings and contribute ideas.
• Demonstrate sound news judgment and collaborate with team members.
• Travel for assignments as needed.
• Lift 35-40 lbs of gear for reporting purposes.
• Represent the news organization professionally in the community.

Requirements

• Ability to shoot and edit videos, write scripts, and communicate live on-air.
• Flexibility in scheduling to adapt to changing news landscapes.
• A degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Familiarity with non-linear editing, TVU, JVC ENG, and social media.
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
