About the position

WICS is seeking a dedicated and talented Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) to join our dynamic news team in Springfield, IL. As an MMJ, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality news content across multiple platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include reporting, shooting, and editing news stories, as well as generating original story ideas and developing valuable contacts within the community. You will be expected to produce engaging daily content that resonates with our audience, utilizing various mediums such as television, the internet, social networking sites, and mobile applications. In this fast-paced environment, you will need to demonstrate sharp news judgment and the ability to tell compelling stories in the NPPA style. Excellent technical skills are essential, as you will be responsible for operating camera equipment and editing software to create polished news segments. The role requires a self-starter who can work independently while also collaborating with other team members to ensure timely and accurate news coverage. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory, as you will be traveling to various locations for news coverage. We are looking for a candidate who is not only passionate about journalism but also possesses the creativity and resourcefulness to thrive in a competitive media landscape. If you have experience with live shots and familiarity with Live-U technology, that would be a significant advantage.
