About the position

KIMA is looking for a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) who will play a crucial role in reporting, shooting, and editing news stories. As an MMJ, you will be responsible for enterprising story ideas and developing contacts within the community to ensure a steady flow of news content. You will be expected to produce daily content across various platforms, including the Internet, social networking sites, mobile phones, and television. This position requires a proactive approach to news gathering and storytelling, ensuring that the content is engaging and informative for the audience. In addition to your reporting duties, you will be tasked with maintaining a strong presence on social media and other digital platforms to enhance the station's visibility and reach. You will also collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure that all news stories are covered comprehensively and accurately. The role demands a high level of creativity and the ability to work independently, as well as the capability to adapt to the fast-paced nature of news reporting. The ideal candidate will possess sharp news judgment and the ability to tell compelling stories in the NPPA style. Excellent technical skills are essential, as you will be using various tools and equipment to capture and edit video content. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are also required, as you will be traveling to different locations for news coverage.
