About the position

The Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) at KTVO is responsible for reporting, shooting, and editing news stories. This role involves generating story ideas, developing contacts, and producing daily content across various platforms, including television, the internet, and social media. The MMJ must demonstrate sharp news judgment and the ability to tell engaging stories while working independently and under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Reporting news stories
• Shooting and editing news content
• Enterprising story ideas
• Developing contacts for news stories
• Producing daily content for multiple platforms including internet and social media
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field is required
• Reporting experience is preferred
• Excellent technical skills
• Strong writing skills required, including the ability to write concisely and conversationally
• Ability to work well independently
• Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines
• Sharp news judgment

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with live shots is preferred, but not required
• Experience with Live-U is a plus
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record
