About the position

WCYB/WEMT is seeking a dedicated and skilled Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) to join our dynamic news team in Bristol, Virginia. As an MMJ, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality news content across various platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include reporting, shooting, and editing news stories, as well as generating original story ideas and developing valuable contacts within the community. You will be expected to produce daily content that engages our audience on television, the internet, social networking sites, and mobile devices. This position requires a proactive approach to news gathering and storytelling, ensuring that our viewers receive timely and relevant information.

Responsibilities

• Report, shoot, and edit news stories for various platforms.
• Generate original story ideas and develop contacts within the community.
• Produce daily content for television, internet, social media, and mobile devices.
• Work independently to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality news coverage.
• Collaborate with the news team to ensure comprehensive news reporting.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of reporting experience is required.
• Experience with live shots is required.
• Excellent technical skills in video shooting and editing.
• Sharp news judgment and the ability to tell an NPPA style story.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Live-U is a plus.
