About the position

WGME is seeking a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join its nightside reporting team in Portland, Maine. The role involves reporting, shooting, and editing news stories, as well as developing story ideas and contacts. The MMJ will produce daily content for both linear and digital platforms, contributing to the station's reputation for excellence in reporting and investigative journalism.

Responsibilities

• Report, shoot, and edit news stories.
• Develop and enterprise story ideas.
• Build and maintain contacts for news stories.
• Produce daily content for linear and digital platforms.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required.
• Experience with live shots is required.
• Sharp news judgment and the ability to tell an NPPA style story.
• Excellent technical skills.
• Ability to work well independently.
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Live-U is a plus.
• A track record of successfully using multiple digital platforms.
