About the position

The Multimedia Journalist / Producer position at KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a hybrid role that combines behind-the-scenes production with on-camera reporting. The successful candidate will produce weekend newscasts and engage with the community during the week, focusing on delivering news that resonates with viewers. This role requires creativity, flexibility, and strong storytelling skills to create compelling content across various platforms.

Responsibilities

• Produce newscasts on weekends and report on news during the week.
• Create, shoot, write, and edit meaningful stories for the station's newscast.
• Provide news on-air as directed by the news management team.
• Engage with local community members to gather news.
• Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance.
• Work closely with all members of the news team, including Producers, Editors, Anchors, and managers.

Requirements

• A Journalism degree is preferred.
• Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills are a must.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
