About the position

KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas is seeking a Multimedia Journalist / Producer for a hybrid role that combines behind-the-scenes production with on-camera reporting. The position involves producing newscasts on weekends and engaging with the community during the week to report on significant news stories. The ideal candidate should be flexible, creative, and energetic, with a strong understanding of storytelling and newscast production.

Responsibilities

• Produce newscasts on weekends.
• Report on news in the community during the week.
• Create, shoot, write, and edit meaningful stories for the station's newscast.
• Provide news on-air as directed by the news management team.
• Engage with local community members.
• Review material for fairness, accuracy, and balance.
• Work closely with all members of the news team, including Producers, Editors, Anchors, and managers.

Requirements

• A Journalism degree is preferred.
• Proven knowledge and experience working with current media creation tools and contemporary newsroom systems.
• Strong writing and copy-editing skills are a must.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
