As a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) at Spectrum News 1, you will play a crucial role in storytelling that resonates with the community. Responsibilities

  • Engage with community members to uncover and report on local stories.
  • Pitch, write, shoot, and edit news stories for television and digital platforms.

  • Adapt to changing news situations, including breaking news and severe weather events.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
  • Proficiency in shooting videos and understanding video editing software.
  • Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
  • An innate curiosity and urgency in creating compelling stories.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
