About the position

As a Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum News, you will be responsible for uncovering and reporting on local stories that matter to your community. This role involves engaging with community members, pitching and writing stories, shooting and editing video content, and delivering news across various platforms including television and digital media. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a supportive team to produce timely and accurate news coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with community members to uncover and report on local stories.
  • Pitch, write, shoot, interview, and edit news stories.
  • Deliver news content across multiple platforms including TV and digital.
  • Work under tight deadlines and adapt to breaking news situations.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
  • Ability to shoot videos and understand video editing software.
  • Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
  • Innate curiosity and urgency in creating compelling stories.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license for authorized driving.
