About the position

As a Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum News 1, you will be responsible for uncovering and telling compelling stories that matter to your local community. This role involves engaging with community members, pitching stories, writing, shooting, interviewing, and editing content for various platforms including TV and digital. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a supportive team to deliver accurate and timely news coverage.

Responsibilities

• Engage with community members to uncover and report on local issues.
• Pitch, write, shoot, interview, and edit news stories.
• Create content for multiple platforms including TV and digital.
• Work collaboratively with a team to ensure timely and accurate news coverage.
• Adapt to flexible deadlines and work under time pressure, especially during breaking news events.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Ability to shoot videos and understand video editing software.
• Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
• Innate curiosity and urgency in storytelling, with the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
