About the position

As a Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum News, you will engage with your community to uncover and report on important local stories. This role involves taking ownership of the entire storytelling process, from pitching and writing to shooting, interviewing, and editing. You will work collaboratively with a team to produce compelling and timely news content across various platforms, including television and digital media.

Responsibilities

• Pitch story ideas and develop engaging content for various platforms.
• Conduct interviews and gather information from community members.
• Shoot and edit video content for news stories.
• Write scripts and news articles that are clear and compelling.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely news coverage.
• Utilize social media to promote stories and engage with the audience.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Proficiency in shooting videos and understanding video editing software.
• Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
