About the position

As a Multimedia Journalist at Spectrum s, you will be responsible for uncovering and reporting on local stories that matter to your community. This role involves engaging with community members, pitching and writing stories, shooting and editing video content, and delivering news across various platforms including TV and digital media. You will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with a supportive team to produce timely and accurate news coverage.

Responsibilities

• Engage with community members to uncover and report on local stories.
• Pitch, write, shoot, and edit news stories for various platforms.
• Collaborate with team members to create compelling news coverage.
• Maintain flexibility in working hours to accommodate breaking news and severe weather emergencies.
• Utilize social media effectively to enhance storytelling and audience engagement.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in television news reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or comparable television work experience.
• Ability to shoot videos and understand video editing software.
• Effective communication skills on camera and through writing.
• Innate curiosity and urgency in creating compelling stories.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence.
