About the position

The Multimedia Journalist at Telemundo T31 Orlando plays a crucial role in the news production process, responsible for shooting, writing, and editing news stories on a daily basis. This position requires a dynamic individual who can work both in the studio and out in the field, ensuring that news stories are not only timely but also accurate and engaging. The journalist will collaborate closely with News Producers to brainstorm and develop story ideas, ensuring that all content is journalistically sound, fair, and balanced. In addition to daily news coverage, the Multimedia Journalist will be expected to report live during newscasts and breaking news events, showcasing their ability to think on their feet and deliver information in real-time. The role also involves coordinating and conducting interviews, as well as video-recording these interactions to create compelling news segments. The journalist will have the opportunity to develop ongoing “sweeps” and “special series” stories, allowing for deeper storytelling and community engagement. Representing Telemundo at community events is also a key aspect of this role, as building relationships within the community is essential for developing story leads and enhancing the station's presence. Responsibilities

• Shoot, write & edit news stories on a daily basis for station's newscasts, recorded programs and/or other live broadcasts.
• Work directly with News Producers on story ideas and development.
• Present completed stories that are accurate, journalistically sound, fair and balanced.
• Report live during newscasts and breaking news as needed, either in studio or out in the field.
• Coordinate, organize, conduct and video-record interviews.
• Develop ongoing 'sweeps' and 'special series' stories.
• Represent Telemundo in community-related events.
• Build relationships with community contacts for developing story leads.

Requirements

• BA or BS in Journalism or related field.
• At least two years reporting, shooting, writing, and video-editing experience.
• Excellent writing and communication skills in Spanish.
• Enterprise reporting experience required.
• Live reporting experience.
