About the position

The News Department at TelevisaUnivision in North Carolina is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to join their dynamic team. In this position, the Multimedia Journalist will be responsible for reporting, shooting, and editing video news stories, as well as producing content for various platforms. This includes writing and posting updates across multiple channels, such as the company website and mobile products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in social media, capable of conducting engaging walk-and-talk live shots, and skilled at capturing the attention of viewers through compelling visuals and sounds. Daily tasks will involve gathering information, conducting interviews, shooting video, and producing and editing assigned stories. A strong familiarity with local, national, and international news is essential, as is the ability to establish and maintain contacts within the community. The role also emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and collaboration with co-workers, supervisors, and the broader community. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting, shooting, and editing video news stories.
  • Producing content for use in multiple outlets.
  • Writing and posting across various platforms, including updating the website and mobile products.
  • Conducting walk-and-talk live shots to engage viewers.
  • Gathering information and conducting interviews.
  • Maintaining strong familiarity with local, national, and international news and issues of the day.
  • Establishing and maintaining news contacts in the community.
  • Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Performing other duties as deemed necessary.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of newsroom experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • BA degree in communication, journalism, television broadcasting, or equivalent preferred.
  • Fluent in Spanish (read and write).
  • Ability to interpret and translate from English to Spanish accurately.
  • Must be willing to work from the office in Raleigh, NC.
  • Employment/education will be verified.
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, and sit for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, and evenings.
