This role requires a dynamic individual who can develop sources and break relevant stories across all platforms, ensuring that our audience receives timely and accurate news coverage. In this position, you will be responsible for pitching, shooting, writing, editing, and tracking compelling enterprise and real-time stories. You will confirm the accuracy of information before publishing, posting, or broadcasting stories, and pitch stories that impact local communities and neighborhoods. Additionally, you will produce packaged reports and go live from the scene when necessary, helping news producers prepare newscasts by identifying the best video, sound, and showcasing elements. You will organize material, determine emphasis, and write stories according to prescribed editorial style and format standards, while also shooting video and still photos to illustrate stories. Editing videos for all multimedia platforms will be a key part of your responsibilities, and you will work cooperatively with photographers assigned to your stories. The Multimedia Journalist role is essential in maintaining the high standards of journalism that WXYZ is known for. You will assist online staff in preparing multimedia stories, ensuring that our content is engaging and accessible to our audience. This position requires a flexible schedule, as fill-in work will be necessary, and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds is required. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are also essential for this role.
