WGNO-TV in New Orleans is seeking a dynamic and assertive Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) to join our DigitalFirst operation, which is dedicated to delivering local content 24/7 across all platforms. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional news gathering, storytelling, photography, and editing skills that stand out in a competitive market. This role is perfect for an established MMJ who is eager to produce and report compelling stories that engage our viewers and digital users with unique content not found elsewhere. As a Multimedia Journalist, you will be responsible for producing, reporting, shooting, writing, voicing, and editing content for all platforms in a clear, engaging, and meaningful manner. Your duties will include reporting news stories for broadcast, arranging interviews with key sources, reviewing and correcting content for accuracy and adherence to editorial style, and determining the emphasis and format of stories. You will also be expected to research and analyze background information related to news stories, gather information through various means, pitch relevant stories to news managers, and ensure all content meets our high standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. In addition to traditional reporting, you will write stories for our web and social media platforms, interact with viewers on social media, and perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
