Millsaps College is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to join our dynamic communications team. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about storytelling and media production. The Multimedia Journalist will be responsible for creating engaging content across various platforms, including video, audio, and written formats. The successful candidate will produce news stories, feature articles, and multimedia content that resonate with our audience. The Multimedia Journalist will also assist in the development of marketing materials and contribute to the college's overall communication strategy. Responsibilities

• Create engaging multimedia content including videos, articles, and social media posts.
• Conduct interviews with faculty, staff, and students to gather information for stories.
• Research and write news stories and feature articles that highlight college events and initiatives.
• Collaborate with the communications team to develop marketing materials.
• Utilize social media platforms to promote content and engage with the college community.
• Assist in the planning and execution of college events and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with multimedia production tools and techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
• Knowledge of social media marketing strategies.
• Familiarity with photography and graphic design.
