About the position

WEAU 13 News is seeking a multimedia journalist who is an enterprising self-starter with a passion for storytelling. This role involves generating original story ideas, shooting, writing, and editing news packages, and producing content for both television and online platforms. The multimedia journalist will also engage with the community and manage social media presence, contributing to the station's mission of delivering high-quality news coverage.

Responsibilities

• Generate original story ideas and lead stories.
• Shoot, write, and edit television news packages.
• Produce value-added content for WEAU.com.
• Maintain social media pages and engage with the audience.
• Participate in community events and represent the station.

Requirements

• Strong storytelling skills with the ability to incorporate real people into news coverage.
• Experience in shooting and editing video content.
• Proficiency in writing for broadcast and online media.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
