About the position

Telemundo El Paso is seeking a Multimedia Journalist with a strong background in television news production. The role involves shooting, writing, and editing daily news stories for both on-air and digital platforms, as well as assisting in live broadcasts. The candidate will engage with the community and participate in station activities, while staying informed on current events and news.

Responsibilities

• Shoot, write, and edit daily stories for on-air and digital productions.
• Gather material to contribute to building the rundown.
• Assist in the production of live broadcasts.
• Stay updated on current events and news in the state.
• Participate in community events and station activities as Master of Ceremonies or Host when requested.
• Gather news information and prepare presentations for live, online, streaming productions, and social media.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in Spanish market broadcast television.
• Strong knowledge of the Adobe editing system and camera operation.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required, with strong Spanish writing and verbal skills.
• Ability to ad-lib and improvise in various on-air situations.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Independent problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
• Active driver's license and excellent driving record.
• Flexibility in schedule, including the ability to work holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience as a photojournalist for a minimum of 2 years.
• BS/BA in journalism or communications.
• Strong network of contacts for exclusive stories.
