About the position

The Multimedia Journalist position at KLTV/KTRE involves gathering, verifying, and reporting news across various platforms. The role requires a self-starter with strong news judgment who can produce content for both broadcast and digital media. The journalist will be responsible for pitching stories, shooting and editing video, and reporting live, often utilizing digital platforms for real-time updates.

Responsibilities

• Gather and verify information for news reports
• Investigate leads and pitch stories to managers
• Shoot and edit video content
• Write and produce material for broadcast and digital platforms
• Report live on air and online, including via FaceTime or Skype
• Post stories online and manage digital content
• Set up news stories and conduct research
• Manage news photography equipment and ensure its proper use
• Work outdoors frequently and cover stories in various environments
• Work weekends, holidays, and evenings as necessary

Requirements

• Journalism degree or similar preferred
• Professional video camera knowledge
• Experience with non-linear editing software
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
