About the position

UTHealth is seeking a Multimedia Specialist to visually narrate the stories of the institution through videography and photography. This role involves creating web-based multimedia content to support online marketing and communication strategies, requiring expertise in all aspects of video and photography production, from conception to final delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative drive and excellent organizational skills to manage multimedia assets effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Research and develop themes and content ideas for online publications, including conducting interviews, writing, editing, producing, and publishing articles, graphics, photos, videos, and posts for various multimedia formats.
  • Design, develop, implement, and manage content on the official university website, intranet, and social media platforms.
  • Develop and execute web-related projects across internal departments.
  • Provide photographic services to produce materials integrated across a variety of multimedia formats.
  • Provide videography services, including motion graphic rendering and audio/video conversion and editing.
  • Adhere to University rules and guidelines regarding the use of social media.
  • Maintain a digital library of photographs, videos, graphic designs, and program collateral.
  • Maintain all media-related equipment, facilities, and supplies.
  • Research and recommend new media technologies to advance department strategy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field.
  • Three (3) years of related experience, preferably in social media or digital.
  • Strong HD video/audio production/editing and photography skills.
  • Strong computer, writing, and communications skills, including Associated Press writing style.
  • Proficiency with software packages including Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with content management systems and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, YouTube, and Google Analytics.

Nice-to-haves

  • FAA-certified drone pilot certification.
