About the position

WLFI-TV is looking for a Multi-Platform Journalist / Fill-in Anchor who will be responsible for anchoring newscasts, generating local stories, and producing compelling video content. The role requires strong reporting and producing skills, as well as the ability to engage with viewers effectively.

Responsibilities

• Anchor newscasts and deliver news stories on-air.
• Generate local stories and conduct interviews.
• Shoot and edit video content for broadcast and web.
• Write and edit news stories for various platforms.
• Develop local contacts for news gathering.
• Post stories to the WLFI website.
• Handle equipment necessary for news gathering.

Requirements

• 1 year of broadcast television news experience.
• 4-year college degree in broadcast news.
• Strong camera presence and vocal delivery.
• Clear enunciation and ability to relate to viewers.
• Ability to shoot and edit video effectively.
• Strong writing skills for news stories.
• Good use of video and sound in storytelling.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
