About the position

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre-professional programs; and master's and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health. The University's residential campus boasts a robust living and learning community and a successful intercollegiate athletics program. The School provides degree options at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels to prepare education professionals for certification as well as teaching and leadership careers in schools, elementary through high school. Through curriculum and experiential learning opportunities, led by expert faculty and dedicated staff, students develop into the educators and leaders the world needs today.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in the EdD Program in Executive Leadership at the New Rochelle, NY extension site at Iona University.
  • Courses may include topics such as Theory & Practice of Executive Leadership, Leadership and Cultural Change, Public and Human Relations, Program Evaluation and Assessment, Public Policy, Law, and Ethics, Executive Leadership, Finance, and Governance, Human Resource Development and Continuous Improvement, Leadership and Diversity, Quantitative Research Methods & Design, and Qualitative Research Methods & Design.

Requirements

  • Holding an earned doctorate or equivalent experience
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in qualitative research methods
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in quantitative research methods
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in public policy, law, and ethics
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in shared governance
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in leadership theory
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in public and human relations
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in assessment and program evaluation
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in finance and resource development
  • Significant experience, knowledge and skill in human resource development

Nice-to-haves

  • Successful leadership experience with an understanding of the policies, best practices, challenges, and opportunities in complex organizations
  • Experience working with and leading diverse populations
  • Teaching experience
  • Experience with Course Management System and other instructional technologies
  • Willingness to teach a hybrid course that spans seven weeks over two months with online components and one Friday night/Saturday day in person teaching per month.
