About the position

As a Multisite Service Technician - Multifamily at Hines, you will oversee the quality standards of vacant units to ensure they are market-ready. This role involves performing technical and mechanical duties, maintaining property standards, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. You will work between Centerville, VA and Ashburn, VA, contributing to the overall efficiency and productivity of the property management team.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all repairs and improvements to apartment homes prior to resident occupation.
  • Maintain the property including grounds, common areas, and amenities.
  • Perform general cleaning, pressure washing, trash removal, and other assigned duties.
  • Inspect sheetrock and wall finishes for damage and repair/replace as needed.
  • Verify proper caulking and sealing around sinks, showers, bathtubs, and windows.
  • Practice safety techniques with mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions and report safety issues.
  • Follow guidelines for safe usage of tools and equipment, ensuring items are returned after use.
  • Identify areas for improvement and suggest enhancements for efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure safety information is current and accessible, complying with OSHA and safety laws.
  • Support cost-cutting programs by verifying parts for repair rather than replacement when possible.
  • Respond to questions from service members and residents respectfully, managing maintenance service complaints.
  • Clean and paint equipment as necessary.
  • Understand company policies and procedures as well as those of the assigned property.
  • Possess computer skills for administering work order programs and building operations.
  • Complete all required training programs within specified timeframes.
  • Compute basic mathematical equations.

Requirements

  • EPA Certification strongly preferred; CPO preferred.
  • Two or more years of maintenance or related experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify mechanical, electrical, or other malfunctions and provide solutions.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
