About the position

The Municipal Underwriting Operations Analyst at Huntington National Bank plays a crucial role in supporting the municipal competitive and negotiated underwriting deal processing, execution, and settlement. This position requires close collaboration with various internal team members, including underwriters, investment bankers, sales, and operations, as well as external partners such as bond counsel, municipal advisors, and syndicate members. The primary goal is to ensure the timely, accurate, and compliant execution of transactions within the municipal securities business. This role not only offers a comprehensive understanding of the municipal securities market but also provides opportunities to engage in special projects aimed at driving process improvements. In this position, the analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the institutional municipal underwriting desk. Key duties include inputting new issue information into the Deals Database and Ipreo Municipal Bookbuild, ordering CUSIPs for both competitive and negotiated deals, and ensuring the accuracy of deal data and ticket information across various platforms such as Ipreo, Bloomberg, and the Deals Database. The analyst will also communicate pre-sale good faith notification emails to internal partners and coordinate good faith and closing wires, ensuring all transactions are executed smoothly. Additionally, the analyst will review deal file checklists for all transactions, prepare deal files for closure, process MSRB G-11 Syndicate Settlements, and handle Private Placements settlements. The role may also involve assisting in the review of official statements, bond purchase agreements, issue price certificates, and closing memos as needed. The analyst will distribute offering materials for competitive and negotiated offerings, assist with recordkeeping, revenue tracking, and expenses for all transactions, and work closely with the sales and trading desk to ensure seamless transaction execution. Maintaining adherence to firm policies and procedures while supporting broader Operations and Capital Markets initiatives is also a critical aspect of this role.
