About the position
Avalon School of Music is seeking part-time Music Instructors for Piano, Violin, Guitar, Voice, and Drums. The role involves teaching private one-on-one lessons to students of all ages, from 6 years old to adults. Instructors will have their own private studio and are encouraged to tailor lesson materials to meet individual student needs. The school promotes a relaxed and fun atmosphere, focusing on making lessons enjoyable while ensuring students learn effectively.
Responsibilities
- Teach private one-on-one music lessons in Piano, Violin, Guitar, Voice, or Drums.
- Tailor instruction materials to meet the individual needs of each student.
- Demonstrate technical skills and knowledge of music theory during lessons.
- Provide a fun and engaging learning environment for students of all ages.
- Manage scheduling based on personal availability and student needs.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching music, preferably with a Bachelor's degree in music or equivalent performance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of music theory and sight reading.
- Excellent communication skills to engage students effectively.
- Ability to teach students aged 6-12 is a significant plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience teaching a variety of age groups, including adults.
- Background in performance or advanced music skills.
